DCH Auto Group Temecula helps a local Cancer Warrior

From L-R: Murrietta Family-daughter Bella, mother April, son Logan, daughter Savannah , DCH Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Temecula employee Bree Contreras, Don’t Worry Be Happy Foundation Board Member Mina Buc and Jim Buc.  DCH Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Temecula General Manager Eric Willis
Undoubtedly, we have all been touched by cancer in some way.  So when DCH Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Temecula employee Bree Contreras met Don’t Worry Be Happy Foundation Board Member, Erin Ferrell, Bree became inspired and knew that her DCH Auto Group Temecula family could help.

With the support of DCH Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Temecula General Manager, Eric Willis and DCH Honda Acura of Temecula Kenneth Colson, the dealerships were able to raise $500 in one day to donate to the Don't Worry Be Happy Foundation (http://www.dwbhshirts.org/) and help a struggling Cancer Warrior’s family pay their bills.

Our local Warrior is Logan Murrietta.

The Murrietta’s, a one income family, had two young daughters when they were blessed with the arrival of Logan. When Logan was diagnosed with a form of children’s eye cancer called retinoblastoma, their lives turned upside down.

Life has turned into long trips to CHLA where Logan is being treated. The long trips to Los Angeles, the stay overs there, the huge deductibles and lost hours at work are taxing the Murrietta’s pocketbooks. Any parent knows that they would gladly trade places with their child with cancer, so imagine the worry that fills the Murriettas. DCH Auto Group Temecula’s donation will allow the Don't Worry Be Happy Foundation to continue helping people trying to beat cancer stop worrying about finances so they can focus on healing.

Logan is nearly nine months old and with his treatment is continuing to get better.

If you would like to support the Don't Worry Be Happy Foundation visit their website at  http://www.dwbhshirts.org/.

Temecula Youth Baseball’s Mustang all-stars advance to regional tournament

Temecula Youth Baseball’s Mustang All-Star team is on a roll right now. The 10-year-old team, lead by manager John Paino, has already secured district and sectional wins with a formula that included a solid defense and big hits.

Paino’s team advanced to a regional competition Saturday that included the top eight teams from leagues throughout the Inland Empire.

But before heading out to their first game, the team first stopped by to give league sponsor DCH Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Temecula a big nod of thanks.

“We’re happy to support the sports community, really the whole community. We’re all about partnering with the community, the schools and giving them our support,” said Eric Willis, general manager of DCH Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Temecula.

Shawn Ferris, president of Temecula Youth Baseball, noted that it will be represented by five teams in All-Star tournaments throughout the state.

“I can’t believe we finally broke through as a league,” Ferris said. “This year, we are the powerhouse and it’s because we’ve got great coaches and great kids.”

Ferris said the Mustang, Bronco and Pony divisions are all primed for regional competition, Pinto Coach Pitch will compete against teams throughout Southern California and Shetland will advance to the World Series held in West Covina this month.

Dodge Durango Commercial -- Long Lost Performance

There’s more than one of these dilapidated race tracks in American today.  This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, not when you look at the kind of cars people are making, the kind people are buying.  Performance evidently is no longer a priority.  Queue the sad music.  Queue the windswept leaves.  Queue the wind torn checkered flag.

Wait…do you hear that?  That sounds like performance returning to the stage.  That is a Dodge Durango, maybe the only the SUV that hasn’t forgotten that the “S” stands for Sport.  And that is the proof that while many may have abandoned the sacred institution of performance, power, handling, agility and fun…we have not.  American performance…consider yourself redeemed.
